With its oval floor plan and rounded glass body façades, Tour D2 is the tenth tallest building in France. The skyscraper for commercial use, located in the La Défense district of Paris, consists of 37 floors, completed in 2015 in a record time of 12 months.
During the façade design phase, we provided assistance by modelling the cladding surface of the entire tower, consisting of rhomboidal glazing and variable section ribbing, optimising the geometries in order to limit the production cost of the components.
We then worked on the construction design of the aluminium and steel ribs for elevations 5-16 and 20-28 (280 ribs for a length of 3420 metres). We then interfaced with the production, providing the lists of materials, and followed the completion of the work by producing the drawings for installation on site.
